Nourit Houminer-Klepar — nutrition, science and health and eating behaviours
An American-Israeli researcher, clinical dietitian and academic lecturer in Nutrition and Nursing. The talks draw on current research, and at times on subjects Nourit has researched herself. Delivered in Hebrew and English.
Background
Nourit is a clinical dietitian, researcher and academic lecturer in the Departments of Nutrition and Nursing at Ashkelon Academic College. Her doctorate examined the link between social interactions, stress and cellular ageing.
An American-Israeli researcher and a native speaker of both Hebrew and English, she lectures in both languages to organisations and international teams.
Her research has been published in peer-reviewed journals including Foods, Nutrients, BMC Pregnancy and Childbirth and Biological Research for Nursing, and covers the effects of lifestyle and stress on ageing at the level of the cell, the link between nutrition, mood and mental health, and eating behaviour under stress.
In February 2026 she was named to the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology’s “Women in Science” list, for a controlled clinical trial she is leading that tests whether personalised dietary adjustment affects symptoms of depression and anxiety.
In her clinic she has built deep experience in personalised nutrition based on diagnostics: nutritional status, microbiome and food sensitivities.
As researchers and as women, we believe that science is not content with understanding mechanisms — it is obliged to touch human lives, to connect body and mind, and to open new treatment options built on evidence, hope, and the courage to think differently.
